TL;DR: Fruit Judge asks for your permission before sending a selected photo for AI analysis. If you allow it, the photo is sent to fruitjudge.app and then to Google Gemini to generate your result.
1. Information We Collect
Fruit Judge collects limited data needed to run the analysis feature:
- Photo you select: The image you take or choose when you request analysis.
- Technical request metadata: Operational network data such as IP address, timestamp, request path, and response status used for reliability and security.
2. How We Collect Information
- Photos are collected only when you explicitly choose a photo and request analysis in the app.
- Technical metadata is collected automatically by our infrastructure when requests are made.
3. How We Use Information
We use this information to:
- Analyze the photo and return a ripeness result and tip.
- Operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service.
We do not use your photos for advertising or user profiling.
4. Third-Party Processing and Sharing
To provide AI analysis, Fruit Judge sends the selected photo through our backend at fruitjudge.app to Google Gemini.
We require third-party processors that handle this data to provide the same or equal protection for user data as described in this policy.
5. Data Retention
- Selected photos: Processed transiently to return your result and not retained after request servicing.
- Technical metadata: May be retained in operational logs for service reliability and security for a limited period according to infrastructure needs.
6. Permission and Consent
- The app requests permission before first sending a selected photo for AI analysis.
- If you choose Not Now, the photo is not uploaded for analysis.
- You can withdraw consent in-app by selecting AI data sharing consent and choosing Withdraw Consent.
7. Device Permissions
Fruit Judge requests these device permissions:
- Camera: To take a photo you want to analyze.
- Photo Library: To choose an existing photo you want to analyze.
Camera and Photo Library permissions control access to images on your device. Separate in-app consent controls whether a selected image is uploaded for AI analysis.
8. Data Security
- Data in transit uses HTTPS encryption.
- We do not require account creation to use the app.
9. Children's Privacy
Fruit Judge does not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond the limited data processing described above.
10. International Users
Fruit Judge is operated in the United States. Data may be processed in the United States when you use the service.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
